With a stretching plan for company growth and as part of an ambitious Data and Analytics (D&A) transformation, ViiV has decided to make a significant investment in building advanced analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Data Science Manager is accountable for solving challenging and complex business problems through technical consulting and value delivery leadership

1. Design data science and Artificial Intelligence models
2. Connect to customers to address certain critical business problems
3. Champion a broad range of data products to ensure business impact (multi-channel marketing optimization, data foundation, knowledge management platform and others)
4. Collaborate with team-members (software engineer, ML engineers, data engineers, product owners, etc.) in design reviews and critical feedback sessions to continuously improve product delivery
5. Distil complex analytical findings into simple, understandable and effective messages. Use excellent written, verbal communication and digital media skills for coordinating across teams and engaging and influencing stakeholders within the insights and analytics and tech community
6. Work across disciplines to recommend the best solution for the problem at hand, leveraging data analytics tools
7. Continually learn new analytical skills, techniques and tools to maximise competitive advantage; participate in internal & external technology communities
8. Partner with and influence stakeholders across the ViiV insights & analytics space and in the broader Tech organization in the development of the ViiV data architecture and data/AI governance framework.

Basic Qualifications:

First and foremost, you will be enthusiastic and energised about data and be driven to share that knowledge and excitement with others. In addition:

1. Master's Degree in a STEM subject and experience in a related field i.e. MBA, Statistics, Data Science or equivalent experience (Mathematics, Information Science, Computer Science, or similar)
2. Hands on experience with Advanced Analytics, Generative AI (GenAI), Statistics in a commercial environment
3. A passion for writing clean, maintainable code in Python
4. A broad knowledge of tech; comfortable recommending non-data science solutions where appropriate
5. Proven experience of effective stakeholder management and strong influencing skills. Including data visualisation and insights communication. Connect the gap between the development team and business stakeholders; effectively translate technical concepts to business stakeholders and vice versa.
6. Proven experience of change management skills.
7. Core technical skills:
   
   • Strong knowledge of data science fundamentals (Machine Learning methods, Statistics).
   • Fluent in common analytics tools (Python, Pandas, Numpy, ScikitLearn, SQL, etc.)
   • Comfortable to use data visualization libraries (e.g. Seaborn, Matplotlib)
8. Demonstrated initiative, judgment and discretion while handling sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

1. PhD - in a STEM subject and experience in related field i.e. Statistics, Data Science or equivalent experience (Mathematics, Statistics, Information Science, Computer Science, ML, AI, Bioinformatics or similar)
2. Demonstrated experience in product ownership and stakeholder management.
3. Demonstrated experience with Azure stack (databricks, AMLS, etc.)
4. Knowledge of the data landscape in healthcare (EHR, claims data, real world data, HEOR data)
5. Experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical industry
6. Experience in sales and digital marketing analytics
