Job Description

We’re looking for a Data Protection Specialist to join our client, a Leading Commercial Law Firm. This position is ideal for someone with extensive experience in the legal or professional services sectors, particularly those who have worked with AML, data protection, or complaints and claims.

Candidates with a deep understanding of data protection legislation, industry certifications, and a solid grasp of risk and compliance within a legal setting are highly desirable. The role demands someone who can work independently and take full ownership of data protection compliance within the firm.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  1. Overseeing data tracking, ensuring information is stored, processed, and managed in line with GDPR.
  2. Leading impact assessments and reviewing how data is used across the business.
  3. Managing subject access requests.
  4. Providing expert legal advice to senior management on data protection, risk management, and conflicts of interest.
  5. Facilitating ongoing compliance with data protection legislation and applicable legal/regulatory requirements.
  6. Leading risk assessments related to information security and data protection.
  7. Supporting and mentoring the wider compliance team in managing data protection and regulatory obligations.

We’re looking for someone with significant experience in data protection within professional services, a comprehensive understanding of GDPR and data governance, and the ability to take ownership of compliance processes.

You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards. If you excel in a fast-paced environment and have a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving, this could be the role for you.
