Data Protection Officer (6 Month FTC)
Up to £50,000 + benefits
Wiltshire based - Fully Remote

CPS Group is working with a leading South West organisation for a Data Protection Officer for their expanding team.

As a Data Protection Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing data privacy across the organisation. Your key responsibilities will include mentoring employees on data compliance, providing training on data handling practices, and conducting regular security audits to ensure data protection standards are upheld. You will also act as the primary point of contact between the company and data protection authorities, managing all related communications.

This role requires you to assess data protection risks, contribute to the corporate risk register, and ensure that all regulatory deadlines are met. Initially a 6 month Fixed Term Contract with the view of extending or going permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct regular security audits to maintain data protection standards.
2. Serve as the primary liaison with data protection authorities.
3. Assess risks related to data protection and contribute to the corporate risk register.
4. Ensure compliance with all relevant data protection regulations.

Experience Required:

1. Experience within a similar Data Protection Officer role.
2. Proven experience in data protection, privacy law, or information security.
3. Ability to translate Data Protection legislative requirements into practical, actionable advice.
4. Extensive knowledge of UK data protection laws.
5. Experience in developing and implementing data protection policies, processes, and procedures within a privacy program.
