Our Data Protection Team supports the business in delivering the detailed customer and internally focused elements of our regulatory obligations, to safeguard the information assets and reputation of our organisation, our customers and employees, in line with legal requirements and contractual arrangements. This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of a compliant culture within the region and rolling out the specified data protection compliance framework for UKI in conjunction with the DPO, Data Protection Team and business Data Protection Champions.

WHAT KIND OF WORK WILL I DO?

Working within the wider Digital & Technology Team, you will work with a passionate team focusing on the below and many more:

  1. Supporting the DPO (Data Protection Officer) in ensuring compliance with GDPR and UK Data Protection Act 2018.
  2. Shadowing existing Data Privacy Managers with a view to leading on initiatives and projects relating to the implementation and evolution of data protection controls, processes, and standards with business stakeholders.
  3. Coordinating with, training and directly supporting Data Protection Champions within the region.
  4. Managing Data Privacy Impact Assessments with business stakeholders.
  5. Support the maintenance of a register of data processing operations and suitable reports to prove compliance.
  6. Manage the generation of adequate, suitable and accurate records to meet requirements of legislation.
  7. Support region-wide focus on appropriate handling and protection of employee & customer personal data.
  8. Support the team with regards to data protection questions and queries from UKI stakeholders.
  9. Support customers in identifying, resolving actual/potential data protection issues and handling audit requirements.
  10. Support the handling, investigation and resolution of data breaches and incidents as required.
  11. Management of key operational tooling which supports the team's BAU activities.

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?

  1. A passion for all things Data Protection.
  2. An ordered mindset.
  3. Eagerness to learn.
  4. Computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office applications.
  5. Excel application knowledge is essential.

WHAT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS DO I NEED?

  1. Must hold a valid UK driving license or be self-reliant to travel to multiple sites if required.
  2. Must be fluent in English.
  3. You must have achieved G.C.S.E.s in Mathematics and English with Grade C and above/4-9 or have achieved Level 2 Functional skills in both English and Mathematics.
  4. As part of the Data Protections and Information Governance Level 4 Apprenticeship, you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.

COMPENSATION:

£21,000 per annum starting salary, with increases throughout the programme.
