Parkingeye are looking for a Data Privacy Specialist to join their Privacy team. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be required to provide proactive and effective assistance in respect of data protection and privacy matters arising within the Parkingeye group of businesses. As one of our Data Privacy Specialists, you will undertake research into data protection legislation, provide practical advice on compliance, arrange and administer training, respond to SARs received and maintain internal guidance documents for all DP related processes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working with the Head of Legal and other members of the Privacy team to assist with data protection compliance within the business.
  • In conjunction with the other members of the Privacy team, to organise and administer DP training to the business, as directed.
  • To review and deal with data subject rights requests received into the business, including responding to obtain further information, as required, collating responses, and escalating where applicable.
  • To assist with the drafting of Data Protection Impact Assessments for applicable projects and processes within the business, as required.
  • To assist with assessing both internal and external requests for data and providing responses where appropriate.
  • To maintain internal guidance documents for all DP related processes, such as SARs and other Data Subject rights.
  • To prepare reports on a variety of DP processes, as requested.
  • To assist in the provision of inductions for new starters.
  • To advise of any privacy concerns to senior management and executive team in relation to new projects.
  • To keep up to date with future developments in respect of Data Protection legislation.
  • To provide risk mitigation strategies to the business in respect of issues that arise within the role.

Formal Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Sound working knowledge of the UK GDPR, EU GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Ideally, prior experience working in a data protection environment, e.g., legal department, business risk department, security in private or public sector.
  • A privacy qualification, such as CIPP, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, ideal but not essential.

Personal Attributes/Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • High degree of IT literacy, with experience of using Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently but also to be a team player.
  • Able to influence key stakeholders when necessary.
