Job Title: Data Privacy Analyst

Department: Global Privacy Office

Office Location: London

Reports To: UK Data Protection Officer

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns.

Role Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Data Protection Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for evaluating and ensuring our organization’s privacy practices comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including, but not limited to, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the EU AI Act, the California Consumer Privacy Rights Act (CCPA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive reviews of data protection policies, procedures, and processes, and advise on improvements.
  2. Identify potential vulnerabilities and risks in data handling practices.
  3. Conduct data protection impact assessments for high-risk processing activities and monitor their remediation actions.
  4. Maintain and update the firm’s records of processing activities and related documentation.
  5. Assist with client audits and third-party vendor risk reviews, from a privacy perspective.
  6. Provide guidance and training to staff on data protection best practices and compliance requirements.
  7. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement correct actions and enhance data protection across the firm.
  8. Support the completion of third-party audits, such as TISAX and HIPAA.

Person Specification:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, Computer Science, Information Technology, Executive Education, Corporate Communications, or related field.
  2. Preferences provided to individuals holding IAPP certifications (e.g.; CIPP-E, CIPP-US, AI-G, or CIPT).
  3. Experience in consulting and risk management preferred.
  4. At least three years’ experience in data privacy, data risk, data management, and data protection fields.
  5. Proven experience in data protection fields, with a strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations.
  6. Previous work experience at law firms, banks, insurance companies, or accounting firms is desirable.
  7. Experience with requirements gathering, analysis, and recommendations development.
  8. Experience in effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical roles.
  9. Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  10. Experience with One Trust is preferred.
