Location: Home based, UK (with occasional travel to our London office)

Reports to: Head of Delivery

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: Depending on experience

Role Overview

This role is responsible for providing technical support and feedback to the Apprentices. The Data Mentor will ensure that teaching, learning and assessment is of a gold standard and that retention, achievement and grading outcomes are at or above national standards and learner progression is robustly monitored.

Key responsibilities:

1. Support with eligibility professional discussions
2. Formative and summative assessments against the Knowledge, skills and behaviours of the Apprenticeship Standard
3. Support learners with developing and producing high quality portfolio of projects
4. Support learners to prepare for the Apprenticeship End Point Assessment
5. Provide Ad-hoc technical support and check-in sessions
6. Attend weekly and ad-hoc 1:1 and group mentoring sessions
7. Support with Line manager input and the final employer reference
8. Prepare the learner to enter into Gateway
9. Provide regular feedback and updates on learner progress to the Learner Success Team
10. Support the Faculty team with content development and learner support tickets
11. Provide general advice, guidance to all learners
12. Act as a support point of contact for learners with portfolio queries
13. To safeguard children and vulnerable adults from harm and to report concerns in accordance with the Cambridge Spark process
14. To develop good relationships and encourage equality of opportunity between different groups and eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation
15. Attend the regular team meetings and provide updates as requested on learner progress
16. To support with any ad-hoc duties or requests that may be reasonably required to successfully carry out the role or to support the business

Candidate Specification:

Essential

1. Relevant Technical Qualifications
2. Relevant industry experience
3. Experience of prioritising workload, working to strict deadlines and following governing procedures and controls
4. The ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Conscientious with excellent interpersonal skills
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Ability to work under pressure
8. Experience in a role of a similar nature within formal teaching or Apprenticeships

Interview process:

1. One way video interview (alternative options are available for candidates who require reasonable adjustments to the process - for example live video screening via Google Meets)
2. Take home technical task
3. Competency based questions- 1 hour
4. Ways of Working/Meet the Team - 45 minutes
