SALARY: Circa £55,000 per annum

ROLE TYPE: Hybrid

We're looking for a Data Governance Manager to join our team at Northern. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing data governance frameworks and standards to ensure data quality, accessibility, and compliance across the organisation.

You'll lead initiatives to enhance data as a valuable resource, collaborating with stakeholders to support decision-making, operational excellence, and regulatory requirements. If you're ready to lead the way in data governance, we want to hear from you!


What you'll be doing:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain the data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and standards for data quality, compliance, and accessibility.
  2. Lead data quality initiatives, establishing standards for data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
  3. Build a data ownership program and work with stakeholders to ensure data governance practices are embedded across departments.
  4. Oversee the creation and management of a data catalogue, ensuring data is documented and accessible for analytical use.
  5. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of data governance practices, implementing improvements to enhance the governance framework.

About You:

  1. Relevant certifications in data governance or data management are desirable.
  2. Significant experience in data governance or a related role, with hands-on experience implementing governance frameworks.
  3. Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality, and metadata management practices.
  4. Experience with data governance tools, data management platforms, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  5. Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across teams.
