We are looking for a Data Governance and Compliance Manager to join our Market Data Services team based in London. This position reports directly to the Global Data Compliance Director and sits within the wider global COO function.

Your future role within QRT includes:

In this role you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining governance frameworks and risk mitigation practices across MDS. This role ensures that all data operations comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data governance as an owner and steward.

The role will suit an individual who is self-motivated and who is able to adopt a methodical, logical, and creative approach to new challenges.

  1. Governance Implementation:
  2. Develop and enforce a data governance framework that align with corporate policies and industry standards.
  3. Design and implement policies, procedures, and controls to ensure effective data governance.
  4. Regularly review and update data governance frameworks to adapt to evolving regulations and business needs.
  5. Provide guidance and training to internal staff on governance policies and procedures.
  1. Risk Mitigation:
  2. Identify, assess, and prioritise risks within QRT data sphere, including operational, security, and compliance risks.
  3. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimise potential impacts relating to data.
  4. Monitor risk mitigation processes and ensure risks are effectively communicated and managed across the organisation.
  5. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure ongoing risk mitigation effectiveness.
  1. Compliance and Audit:
  2. Ensure data activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies.
  3. Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring that all findings are addressed and remediated in a timely manner.
  4. Maintain up-to-date documentation of compliance and risk mitigation activities.
  5. Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors concerning governance and compliance.
  1. Incident Management:
  2. Develop and maintain incident management processes to respond to and recover from production data incidents.
  3. Lead incident response activities, ensuring that incidents are managed effectively and lessons learned are incorporated into governance policies and procedures.
  4. Ensure timely reporting and communication of incidents to relevant stakeholders.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  2. Collaborate with MDS leadership, COO, and other stakeholders to ensure governance processes, policies and procedures are aligned with business objectives.
  3. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on governance and risk mitigation activities.
  4. Engage with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies, as needed, to keep up-to-date on best practices and ensure compliance.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  2. Monitor emerging risks and regulatory changes that may impact data operations.
  3. Continuously improve governance and risk mitigation processes based on industry trends, best practices, and lessons learned from incidents.
  4. Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk mitigation across the organisation.

Your present skillset:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data governance as an owner and/or steward, or a related role within a similar firm.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards and data governance frameworks.
  • Experience in incident management and response.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
