ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for keying patient information into the internal information system.
2. Analyzes, works, and appeals denials from EOB’s and correspondence daily. Flags accounts appropriately.
3. Answers patient questions on plan issues if the Patient Account Specialists are not able to resolve issues.
4. Runs credit card payments.
5. Processes refunds to patients and insurance companies.
6. Document scanning.
7. Monitors and reports immediately to management on any claim submission problems.
8. Participates in special projects and/or assignments as requested by Manager/Director.
9. Resolves insurance claim denials.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Related computer experience, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.
3. Minimum two years’ experience in a medical/billing office setting with a strong knowledge of insurance, managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid.
