My client is looking for Data Engineers to join their team in Newcastle. Multiple roles are available at various levels, with competitive salaries. This on-site role is based in Newcastle City Centre.

You’ll be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining the data platform, ensuring data availability and integrity, and working closely with front office and technology teams. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with diverse data types and tackle real-world challenges.

Key Requirements:

1. Experience in data-related roles, with strong SQL, Python, and Apache Spark skills
2. Experience with Databricks and Microsoft Azure is a plus
3. Financial services experience is a bonus, not essential
4. Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
5. A 2:1 degree or higher in Computer Science (or related field)

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and enhance the data platform using both in-house and third-party data tools
2. Analyse and implement data automation tasks and workflows
3. Build data pipelines to integrate data from various sources into the firm's data platform
4. Curate and manage internal and external datasets to support the front office's data requirements
5. Design and implement effective, best-practice data architectures
6. Develop and enforce data standards and quality control measures

This opportunity will be based in Newcastle upon Tyne - Full time
