What you'll do
Data Platform & Infrastructure:
  1. Architect, build, and maintain scalable and performant ELT pipelines and infrastructure using tools like GCP, BigQuery, dbt, third-party ingestion.
  2. Lead data ingestion and transformation from a wide range of first and third-party systems (e.g., GA4, Bloomreach CDP, our Inventory and Finance platforms) ensuring consistent, reliable data access.
  3. Collaborate with developers and other members of the data team to continuously improve data systems, reducing tech debt, increasing automation, and improving observability and diagnostics.
  4. Govern and enhance reverse-ELT processes to enable data activation for marketing and experimentation teams.
  5. Build for resilience and scale - proactively identifying areas for infrastructure optimisation.

  1. Establish robust quality frameworks including data validation, alerting, and monitoring to catch and resolve issues before they impact stakeholders.
  2. Maintain clear and accessible documentation, improving data literacy and trust across teams.
  3. Support data governance initiatives, ensuring responsible data use and alignment with privacy and compliance standards.
Innovation & AI Enablement
  1. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of MV's AI program; we are on a mission to deploy industry-leading AI initiatives that drive business impact and enhance customer experience.
  2. We take a 'build vs. buy' approach to AI, blending custom development with third party tools to rapidly deliver POCs in response to business problems. You'll get hands-on with innovative, composable tooling to prototype, iterate fast, and productionise what works.
  3. Stay up to date with emerging tech and practices in data engineering, analytics, and AI, advocating for thoughtful adoption.
  4. Evangelise data capabilities internally, supporting analysts, marketers, and operators in better leveraging the data platform.
What you'll bring
  1. Proven experience designing and maintaining modern data pipelines in cloud-native environments (preferably GCP and BigQuery).
  2. Strong command of SQL and Python; experience with ELT tools (dbt) and reverse-ELT tools like Census.
  3. Hands-on experience modelling event-based datasets and integrating customer, product, and operational data sources into functional data tools.
