Job description

About the role

At Terra, we work with one of the most sensitive data in the industry: Health data. We have to ensure secure handling while extracting insightful information from the billions of data points we ingest.

You will work closely with the product and engineering team to:

  1. Develop and maintain our services monitoring system, including work on anomaly detection.
  2. Improve efficiency and decrease costs within our pipelines for health data handling/storage.
  3. Build models to draw/extract actionable insights requested from customers from Health Data.

As a team of athletes, we all have wearables monitoring our data and are synced to Terra. As a data engineer at Terra, you will have the privilege to test and build with your teammates' data!

We currently use AWS and GCP along with programming languages such as Python and R for data processing. We also work with Open-Telemetry data from services.

What We Value

We believe outstanding engineers don’t need extensive training from big-tech companies but rather learn through passion, curiosity, and resourcefulness. They should consider engineering as a craft, continuously refining their skills, solving challenges creatively, and learning from their failures. It's this dedication to growth and excellence that makes you an outstanding engineer.

Must haves:

  1. Must approach engineering as an artisan, treating it as a craft to be perfected.
  2. Must be fast. We operate at 200mph, and so do you.
  3. Must be relentless. We never stop, so you are even faster than us.
  4. Must be customer-driven. We think customers first, and so should you.
  5. Must be driven and go above and beyond.
  6. Must be able to explain and communicate clearly.
  7. Must be prepared to challenge us and disagree. We are thinking and acting as a team.
  8. Must be able to work autonomously.
  9. Must want to work hard.
  10. Above all, you are genuinely a nice person.

Big plus: You are an athlete or care about quantifying your data.

Salary depending on experience: £33,000 - £80,000 + stock options.
