EG Group are excited to announce that we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic Data & Analytics team. This technical role is essential in assisting to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that drive business insights and strategic initiatives. Operating in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and play a key role in adopting innovative solutions.

This full-time position is based in Blackburn and requires 5 days on-site.

What you'll be doing:

1. Assisting to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, MS SQL Server (with openness to learn new technologies), and robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store data from various sources.
2. Work with the Senior Data Engineers to develop and implement data models, schemas, and architecture solutions to support analytics and business intelligence.
3. Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide insights into data trends and opportunities.
4. Work on processes to improve efficiency, reduce latency, and ensure high data availability.
5. Monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to quickly identify and resolve data-related issues.
6. Maintain comprehensive documentation for data systems, architectures, and pipelines, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and compliance requirements.

What we're looking for:

1. 2+ years' experience in data engineering or a related field
2. Experience in using Python and MS SQL Server
3. Analytical approach to diagnosing and resolving technical challenges
