Data Centre Engineering Operations Manager

London, UK

70k per annum + £5100 car allowance + Benefits

Resourcing Group have an exciting opportunity to join the LEADING FM & Real Estate business. This role is based in the Docklands, London.

The position of the Data Centre Engineering Manager is key to the technical operations of the building and its infrastructure.

Key Tasks

1. Supervise, coordinate and manage the Supplier Site Personnel technical competences for all building plant and systems.
2. Operate all systems within the buildings in a competent, effective and efficient manner (including HV isolations/operations), with due regard to business risk and energy use. Make recommendations for improvement and provide concise technical reports when required.
3. Control all activities relating to the technical and efficient operation of the installed building systems.
4. Work closely with the engineering team to ensure that Specialist Sub Contractors visits have been prepared and approved Standard Operating Procedures/ MOP/PTW/change requests.
5. Ensure that Specialist Sub Contractor worksheets are signed off where necessary, that quality of work has been inspected and recommendations are communicated by the Site Personnel.
6. Ensure the team and Sub Contractors comply with the contractual service level agreements (SLA's).

Personal Qualities

1. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Data Centre or Critical Environment operations.
2. HV Authorised Person.
3. 18th Edition amendment 2: Wiring and Installation, or willing to achieve.
4. Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
5. Ability to lead, motivate and direct a small team of Engineers.
6. Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
7. Good IT and report writing skills.
8. Individuals who can demonstrate commitment and previous site experience; but do not meet all the required technical qualifications may be considered subject to client approval.
9. Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm, clear thinking and able to deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints.
10. Enthusiasm and demonstration of pro-activity, diligence and alertness, with the willingness to participate in appropriate training schemes.
