37.5hr week (7.5hr day)
Datacentre Engineer
Based at Macmerry, East Lothian - must be within easy commute.
This is for an associate contractor with a view to going temp to perm - in approx. 6 months.
Start date asap - 6 months associate booking.
Rota of early/late shift.
Requirement for on-call cover out of hours including weekends (1 in 4).
There may be a requirement to travel between 2 local Datacentres, but this is not on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

1. Providing 3rd Level Hardware break fix to Natwest HPE X86 estate.
2. Providing full IMAC service (install/Decom/Moves) across both Natwest DC's leveraging the customer and manufacturers tools, such as Part surfer, Intelligent provisioning, CMDB, ServiceNow.
3. Providing a smart hands service to Natwest IT Security team, across all of their Datacentre located kit, from initial troubleshooting up to replacing the entire unit through a RMA process, then installing and providing base configuration for the replacement device to allow IT Security to obtain remote access.
4. Providing Tape Management (Ejects/loads) for the Remote Backup team.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience in Datacentres essential.
2. Good customer service skills.
3. Flexible attitude.
4. Enjoys working as part of a team and also ability to use own initiative.
