Job description

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, focused individual, with well-developed skills, receptive in responding to evolving changes, in positive and flexible approaches using various workstreams and applications across police and court systems to apply for a role within the Offence Processing and Court Resulting Team in Corporate Services, based at Head Quarters, Bridgend.


About the Team/Department you will be joining:

Offence Processing is based in Bridgend, with an opportunity after comprehensive training to utilise the hybrid working scheme allowing individuals to work flexible hours at several locations.

The team currently works Mon - Friday between the hours of 9am - 5pm, however the hours are flexible with respect to Hybrid Working after the initial training period is completed.

The position is for 37 hours, 5 days a week.


About the role and key responsibilities:

  1. To provide a range of administrative duties to support the functions undertaken within the Offence Processing Unit.
  2. Updating and interrogating local and national computer systems.
  3. Pay particular attention to effectively capture, input and interpret information as well as prioritise tasks, to ensure compliance with local and national guidance, whilst adhering to legislative requirements.
  4. Be expected to identify anomalies and discrepancies within information systems and endeavour to amend or report them.
  5. Regularly create, store, maintain, retrieve and update considerable amounts of records/data both manual and electronic on local and national systems.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

  1. Must have a good standard of education to at least GCSE A-C Level, including Maths and English, or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities.
  2. Desirable:
  3. Welsh Language Level 2 - Can understand the essence of a conversation in Welsh, and can convey basic information and respond to simple requests in Welsh.
  4. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to communicate complex information to diverse audiences effectively.
  6. Must be able to evidence an ability to solve problems.
  7. Must be able to work as part of a team, motivating and supporting others.
  8. Must have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage numerous tasks simultaneously.
  9. Must have a working knowledge of the Data Protection Act, Computer Misuse Act and appreciate the restrictions involving data security.
  10. Awareness of the importance of data quality and the potential effect on the business.
  11. Able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the business systems and interdependencies.

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC levels.
