Role: Data Analytics Engineer

Location: Leeds, LS15 (with hybrid working after completion of training)

Salary: £40 - £50k per annum plus extensive benefits

Contract type: Permanent

Employment type: Full time

Working hours: 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday

This is a dynamic and challenging opportunity to join a highly focused team dedicated to designing, maintaining, and enhancing a bespoke Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) hosted on MS Azure SQL Server. You will collaborate closely with a team leveraging a robust reporting suite across SSRS and Tableau, integrating data from multiple independent systems and external third-party sources.

As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing data utilisation, improving reporting capabilities, and enhancing data accessibility to drive informed decision-making and business success.

What you'll be doing?

  1. Ensuring and validating the accuracy of the EDW, improving data quality and query performance
  2. Exploring and understanding fields within production systems to integrate new data into the EDW
  3. Maintaining seamless execution of ETL and other routines, enhancing performance and reliability.
  4. Eliminating reliance on legacy systems by modernising and improving data solutions
  5. Partnering with the Head of BI to develop and maintain reporting suite
  6. Collaborating with MI/BI analysts to identify and establish reliable, accurate data sources that meet stakeholder requirements
  7. Ensuring reports are technically and conceptually efficient, accurate, and impactful
  8. Playing a key role in designing and building a new version of the Data Warehouse from the ground up
  9. Identifying opportunities to enhance the EDW technically and conceptually
  10. Driving efforts to deliver smart, effective insights into P2U's performance and outcomes

Who are we looking for?

  1. Proven ability as a BI Developer/Data Analytics Engineer
  2. Extensive experience of SQL/T-SQL and using SSMS, SSIS and Server Agent
  3. Familiarity with Visual Studio's BI stack and ETL process, Kimball Dimensional Modelling Techniques and BI modelling guidance
  4. Experience with Python, Data Lakehouse Architecture, MS office - particularly Outlook and Excel
  5. Experience of working within company and ethical rules and regulations in a fast-paced environment and still delivering accurate work
  6. Able to take full responsibility for a range of data sources, processes and stakeholder delivery with a keen eye for details
  7. Reliable and able to keep up with a highly motivated team
