SOS Silence of Suicide is a registered mental health and wellbeing charity which was formed in 2015. Our aims are to reduce the stigma, shame & silence that can prevent open and beneficial conversations around mental health and feelings of suicide.
We are now seeking to appoint an experienced, full time Data Analyst Officer to assist with processing a range of data streams as our growth continues. This is not an entry level role – please do not apply if you have only done data entry.

Main responsibilities:
- Extracting data from various sources and collating it into data files within specific timeframes.
- Data cleansing.
- Uploading your data files onto Teams.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and usable data files.
- Working with the Data Manager.
- Responding to queries for information and accessing relevant data files.
- Ensuring confidentiality of information by keeping confidential data private and secure.
- Handling ad hoc data information requests.
- Attending meetings where informative and essential data needs to be discussed (very rarely).
- Data management and reporting techniques & flagging trends or patterns to the Data Manager.
- Working collaboratively with services colleagues to obtain data required to measure the impact of our services.
- Chasing for missing forms or other information when you don’t receive it.
- Engaging with our 0808 (freephone) service providers.
- Working to key weekly and monthly deadlines throughout the year.
- Presenting key data examples throughout the year in narrative and graph form (templates provided).
- Producing monthly data visuals and narrative reports for the charity leadership team and board of trustees.
- Any other duties commensurate with the role.
What are the essential skills you need to apply for this role?
- You must have a strong IT and data analytics background as this is not an entry-level role. DA or IT certification holders are strongly encouraged to apply.
- You must have at least 2 years of experience within this field, as a data administrator, data assistant or similar.
- You are proficient in the use of Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- You have great attention to detail & are highly proficient in the use of Excel.
- Able to take raw data and input it.
- You can maintain accurate and up-to-date data files.
- You have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- You understand data confidentiality principles/GDPR.
- You are pro-active and can work independently as well as in a team.
- You are used to working with data from different sources.
- Experience and/or interest in the charitable sector.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck in. You need to be excited about going beyond the main responsibilities detailed above to improve what we do and make it a success.
