This is a great opportunity to work as an Analyst in a dynamic IT Data team responsible for the delivery of robust Data solutions linking our core applications and building the foundations of our centralised data platform.

This is a hybrid role – three days per week in our Newcastle office.

The Data Analyst will be responsible for engaging with colleagues across Sage to capture, analyse and document data flow requirements and understanding business processes in relation to the data and supporting systems that underpin these processes.

Working closely with the Development Manager and the Data Delivery team, the Data Analyst will also ensure requirements are understood and translated into the relevant technical specifications for Data Development backlog stories.

Key Responsibilities

1. Act as the ‘front door’ into the IT Data scrum teams, developing close relationships with the Functional Business Partners to understand and triage engagement requests.
2. Creating and maintaining IMD documentation, business requirements, and Confluence documentation that will be used by the wider Data Team when building out the data pipelines.
3. Act as the interface between the Business Analysts, wider IT delivery teams and the Solution Architecture on all data requirements.
4. Collaborate with the IT Data team to design and develop solutions by providing the data needs aligned to the business requirements.
5. Work/Liaise with senior leadership, wider business and IT team as required.
6. Ensure key data aspects of the project are appropriately understood by various stakeholders.
7. Carry out analysis on the data we acquire and identify data integrity and quality challenges.
8. Provide analysis expertise across all business priority initiatives.
9. Answer urgent business questions through deep dive analytics.
10. Support data users across the business in their data analysis.

Skills, Know-how and Experience

1. Driven, analytical mind seeking to utilize skills to develop technical documentation that aligns to business requirements.
2. Experience of Business Analysis that supports the development of our Data Warehouse solutions including analyzing source systems, reconciliation, and DQ issues.
3. Persistent, detail-oriented, curious, fast learner with experience or knowledge of data analytics, modelling and design.
4. Strong communication skills, with can-do attitude; ability to convey complex information in understandable terms.
5. Experience in a similar role.
6. Good SQL skills, and JSON experience.
7. Knowledge of databases – relational and unstructured.
8. An inquisitive mind supported by sound business acumen, focused on addressing and solving data and analytical problems within a commercial context.
9. Desire to learn and adopt new analytical techniques and methodologies.
