Spectrum Geosurvey specialise in coastal geophysical surveys, supporting a wide range of clients in the offshore renewables sector. We have a proven track record delivering the highest-quality hydrographic and geophysical survey data. Spectrum Geosurvey are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our growing team based in our Lymington office.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst with a passion for marine geospatial data to join our team. As a GIS Analyst, you will play a key role in processing, analysing, and visualizing geophysical data to produce accurate maps and deliver valuable insights to support marine projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with complex marine datasets and support a variety of projects with environmental, engineering, and scientific impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Processing & Analysis: Process and analyse geospatial data collected from various marine geophysical surveys (e.g., sonar, seismic, and multibeam data).
  • Data Visualization: Create clear, detailed maps, charts, and reports using GIS software to support survey findings.
  • Data Management: Manage and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with surveyors, data processors, and project managers to understand project needs and deliver actionable geospatial insights.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Prepare maps, charts, and presentations for internal and client-facing reports, helping stakeholders understand geospatial data insights.
  • QA/QC: Conduct quality control checks on geospatial data to ensure accuracy and consistency across deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a GIS Analyst, preferably in a marine or environmental sector.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar.
  • Experience with marine geospatial data (e.g., bathymetry, seabed characterization) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing techniques, data processing, and data integration. Knowledge of SQL and Python for geospatial analysis is a plus.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
