Job description

We are looking for a Data Analysis & Evaluation Officer to join our Business Planning & Insights team. Reporting to the Evaluation & Insight Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation and evaluation of the University’s Access and Participation Plan (APP) by applying evidence-based approaches and research methodologies.

The role will contribute to the collation and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, from both internal and external sources, such as OfS Student Outcomes (B3), Graduate Outcomes Survey data, and internal student surveys and focus groups. Additionally, there will be opportunity to support the BPI team in working with stakeholders across the university to provide best practice in intervention design and delivery.

We are looking for an analytical thinker, with a logical and objective mindset, who can understand and interpret complex data in a clear and concise manner. In this role, you will help identify high-performing areas and potential risks within the university, applying research techniques such as literature reviews, validated scales, and statistical tests to evaluate and enhance intervention design and strategy. Your insights will remain unbiased and evidence-based. You will have a collaborative approach, with good communication and research skills and the ability to manage varied requirements.

You do not need to have expertise in every aspect of the role, but we expect candidates to have a basic understanding of data analysis and evaluation. To support your professional development, we offer internal and external training opportunities in data analysis, research methods, statistical analysis, and academic writing.
