The Company:
A family-owned successful dairy farm is recruiting for a Dairy Farm Manager. A company with fresh thinking, innovating the dairy sector with excellent animal welfare, fresh produce and less environmental impact as key values.

The Job Role:
Your role as the Dairy Farm Manager will be focused on the day-to-day management of the farm, confidently managing a team, contractors and livestock. Implementing the agreed farming policy, analysing data and producing reports, reporting to directors and engaging with the farm's wider business community.

Location:
Northern England

Salary Package:
Between £50,000 - £60,000 Basic Salary + results-based remuneration
+ Accommodation to suit a family, with use of farm vehicle

Key Responsibilities:

1. The Dairy Farm Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the herd and young stock, feeding, breeding and health decisions
2. Responsible for correct TMR (Total Mixed Ration)
3. Management of team, including inductions and training of new staff
4. Liaise effectively with contractors to manage arable and forage production requirements
5. Responsible for Health and Safety
6. Data recording/record keeping, report production and analysis

Candidate Skills and Experience:
Proven experience of large-scale dairy herd/livestock management
Experience of managing a team
An excellent communicator
Attention to detail
Experience of Health & Safety management and adherence
Excellent IT skills; use of herd management software desirable
Independent thinker with a proven ability to run operations smoothly and effectively within agreed objectives
Ability to embrace and develop new farming technologies to remain competitive
