The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Dairy Consultant - Technical (West Midlands Region)

Location: Home Based with 2 - 3 days per week travelling

Are you interested in agriculture and ruminant nutrition? Would you like to be a part of a professional team of consultants that have expert knowledge across the dairy market? Do you have technical ruminant animal nutrition knowledge with a consultative approach?

This is a great opportunity to work in an autonomous and trusted environment where you will always have the support of your team and other experts in the dairy industry. You will put your knowledge of Dairy cow nutrition, health, welfare and sustainable production at the forefront of everything you do.

You will oversee your own portfolio of farm clients to provide specialist support for herd management and rationing to promote their performance to premium levels. We are also in a position to utilise new technologies and advise farmers on market trends and how to reduce environmental footprints on farm.

What you will be doing:

  • Maintain and develop a profitable dairy technical consultancy portfolio for the West Midlands region.
  • Deliver effective technical and nutritional advice to our on-farm clients.
  • Support local colleagues and corporate teams in project delivery.
  • Develop opportunities for Advance or wider AB Dairy products and services to increase the value to and from Kite clients.
  • Attend regular dairy conferences, events and training opportunities with enthusiasm to stay up to date with new technical and market changes.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience and knowledge of the agricultural and ruminant nutrition industry. Ideally a degree in Animal Science, Agriculture or Veterinary.
  • An understanding of UK Dairy farming and market trends.
  • Expert knowledge of Dairy cow nutrition, health, welfare and sustainable production.
  • The ability to create sales opportunities for Kite and Advance with an enthusiasm for developing high value consultancy contracts.
  • The ability to influence and engage customers, colleagues and stakeholders with proven relationship building skills.
  • Enjoys working in a target-oriented environment with a commercial mindset.
