D365 Business Central SME / Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain customisations and extensions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL.

• Lead system upgrades, patches, and integration efforts with internal and external systems.

• Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop functional/technical specifications.

• Optimise Business Central configuration and performance.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for BC and related financial systems.

• Maintain clear documentation and ensure compliance with GDPR and DORA regulations.

• Support reporting and data extraction using SQL and other tools.

• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in the ERP and financial systems space.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a D365 Business Central development or technical SME role.

• Expertise in AL language and Business Central development environment.

• Strong understanding of finance modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable).

• Solid knowledge of SQL, APIs, and system integration techniques.

• Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Experience with ERP upgrades, system migrations, and configuration best practices.

• Familiarity with compliance and data security standards (e.g., GDPR, DORA).

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on ERP/Business Central experience.

• Exposure to Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).

• Experience in multi-national or high-compliance environments.

• Understanding of project management and system lifecycle processes.

Location & Work Setup

• Hybrid working: Minimum two days per week at the office in Salford (MediaCityUK area).
