Our IT Security Apprentice will support the IT security manager to protect our digital assets and ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience and training in various aspects of IT security, including risk management, supplier management, application testing and many more.

WHAT KIND OF WORK WILL I DO?

Working within the wider Digital & Technology Team, you will work with a passionate team focusing on the below and many more:

  1. DWASP (DHL's Web Application Security Program) - Manage penetration tests, coordinate with various stakeholders to organize these tests, and follow up on findings once the tests are complete.
  2. Infosec Priorities (MFA/Concept 2024) - Address other key priorities, including pursuing stakeholders and completing necessary documentation.
  3. Risk Management - Assist in reviewing and organizing information security risks, ensuring risk owners update their risks, and processing them for approvals.
  4. INC Management - Assist in managing day-to-day incidents such as identifying malicious files on machines and investigating phishing emails.
  5. Application Management - Handle any ad hoc application tasks, including security reviews, design architecture reviews, and writing documentation and processes.
  6. Supplier Management - Collaborate with supplier managers to review and address any information security risks associated with their suppliers.

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?

  1. A passion for all things data.
  2. An ordered mindset.
  3. Eagerness to learn.
  4. Computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office applications.
  5. Excel application knowledge is essential.

WHAT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS DO I NEED?

  1. Must hold a valid UK driving license or be self-reliant to travel to multiple sites if required.
  2. Must be fluent in English.
  3. You must have achieved G.C.S.E.s in Mathematics and English with Grade C and above/4-9 or have achieved Level 2 Functional skills in both English and Mathematics.
  4. As part of the Cyber Security Risk analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship, you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years as it is a government funded apprenticeship programme.

COMPENSATION:

£21,000 per annum starting salary, with increases throughout the programme.
