We are a National Cyber Security Centre - Assured Cyber Security Consultancy.

Locations: London, Guildford, Bristol, M4 corridor

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will work as part of an Actica team to undertake a number of varying consultancy assignments. You will be given the opportunity to undertake a variety of roles throughout the project lifecycle, working across a wide-ranging set of clients and cutting-edge technologies.

In this role, you will:

1. Provide security expertise for major system procurements and Agile programmes.
2. Identify, analyse, and evaluate information risks across various projects and systems.
3. Explain the causes, likelihood, and potential business impacts of information risks to stakeholders.
4. Develop security assurance documentation according to risk management frameworks.
5. Design new security architectures that address emerging technology and business practices.
6. Offer consultancy on information assurance and architectural problems.
7. Scope security testing activities and explain results and remediation steps.
8. Provide advice and direct expertise to maintain and improve operational security for critical systems.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

1. Experience with complex ICT systems in a technical delivery or consulting capacity.
2. Strong understanding of enterprise information and communications technology.
3. Ability to present and justify conclusions to project teams and stakeholders.
4. Proven track record in meeting client expectations and requirements.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:

1. Experience in the UK Defence, Critical National Infrastructure and Public Sectors, particularly in ICT and Enterprise Solutions, is highly desirable.
2. Knowledge of structured security frameworks (such as HMG SPF, NCSC CAF, NIST CSF and ISO27000 series).
3. Familiarity with security and enterprise architecture methods (TOGAF, SABSA).
4. Experience with technical risk assessments, software development, ICT service delivery (ITIL), and enterprise security packages.

Additional Requirements:

1. Must be eligible and willing to obtain UK Government Security Clearance.

Working Arrangements:

1. Hybrid working model, with an office base in Guildford, Surrey and access to our other offices in London, Swindon and Cheltenham.
2. Typical working week might involve 2-3 days working at clients’ premises or other locations and the remainder at home or at one of our offices.
3. Some projects may require up to 5 days per week on-site with colleagues.
4. The practicalities of some project work means that individuals may need to stay away from home during the working week.
5. Team-based project environment with opportunities to participate in internal initiatives.

Career Development

You will have the opportunity to build a career in consulting, specialising in the application of information assurance and cyber security expertise to a wide range of business problems.

We provide substantial training leading to nationally recognised qualifications, such as chartered or principal status with the UK Cyber Security Council, or certifications such as CompTIA, NIST, PCiIAA, CISMP, CISSP, CREST, ISO27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, SABSA, and TOGAF.

A Mentor will be on hand to provide support and guidance throughout your journey with Actica. You will also work with a Performance and Development Manager, often outside of your project line of control, who will conduct regular reviews based on project feedback to set career objectives and identify training courses which are both relevant to your current project work, and aligned with your planned career progression.
