Customer Support Assistant

Location: London, Battersea

Working Hours: 37.5 hours a week, 5 days out of 7; working weekends and bank holidays on a rotating basis. Flexible shift system - 7:30 am – 4:00 pm or 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Salary: £26,200K

The role's key purpose is to support the residents as you will be the first point of contact. You will go above and beyond to deliver excellent resident service.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing practical and timely solutions to residents’ problems, including communicating maintenance issues with colleagues.
  • Helping with parcels and post queries.
  • Loaning out items (e.g., hoovers, fans, ironing boards).
  • Assisting in running social events with university partners.
  • Supporting contractors, visitors, and university partners with their requirements.
  • Carrying out checks and building walks, logging observations on an iPad.
  • Inspecting communal areas, lifts, corridors, and residents’ kitchens (before check-out).
  • Conducting room inspections or showing potential residents suites or studios.
  • Supporting onboarding of new colleagues; answering questions and sharing knowledge.
  • Contributing constructively at monthly team meetings.
  • Learning about processes that ensure safety for residents and colleagues.
  • Respecting privacy and personal information; trained on all aspects of GDPR.
  • Dealing with issues or incidents and calling emergency services when needed.
  • Collaborating with Maintenance and Night Teams for optimal resident service.
  • Completing specific training to acquire new skills, including training on IT Resident reporting systems.
  • Writing up handovers for Night Team colleagues to ensure continuity.
  • Understanding the importance of Health & Safety and Fire Safety; reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Performing other ad-hoc tasks as needed throughout the annual lifecycle.

  • You possess good common sense and are proactive in finding solutions.
  • You take pride in your appearance and communication.
  • You are organised and can work through a list of tasks within a time frame.
  • Speaking other languages is a bonus, as 80% of residents are international.
  • You have excellent timekeeping skills.
  • You are flexible in your approach to work tasks to support other property teams.
  • You have a good level of computer literacy.
