Job description

The Team:

Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST) is a division of the Tasmania Department of Health that provides public dental care services to eligible Tasmanians. Its primary goal is to improve oral health outcomes across the state, particularly for vulnerable and disadvantaged populations.

The Role:

Provide an efficient and effective reception service to all Oral Health Service Tasmania (OHST) clients and centre-based staff as well as administrative and clerical support to OHST staff and external service providers.

Liaise and assist in the coordination of the day-to-day functions of the Dental Centre and community clinics. Provide a clerical support service in relation to the administrative functions associated with primary patient care.

  • Provide prompt, welcoming, and accurate information to the public, clients, and stakeholders regarding eligibility criteria, appointment scheduling, and services delivered by OHST to a high standard of customer service.
  • Control and direct all incoming telephone calls to the service. Answer all patient or public enquiries, solve problems, or refer the call to the correct departmental personnel.
  • Register all clients on the electronic client database (TITANIUM), prioritise and schedule appointments for eligible clients as per OHST triaging and appointment provision guidelines, identify course of care, and maintain waiting lists.

Details of Appointment:

Permanent full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 - $70,993 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience working in a clinical dental environment.
