Job description

Join us as a Customer Proposition Developer

  • You’ll be part of our ambition to deliver compelling and differentiated customer propositions that both meet the needs of our customers and drive business growth across Retail Banking.
  • We’ll look to you to work within the Customer Propositions team to support the execution of the proposition design, development, and delivery.
  • You’ll be undertaking innovative proposition work that supports the research, evaluation, design, and delivery of new or improved products, services, and experiences in service of our customer segments.
  • This is an opportunity to collaborate across the wider team and with stakeholders using Agile ways of working.
What you'll do

As a Customer Proposition Developer, you’ll be supporting the design and delivery of improvements to the customer proposition roadmap, aligned to the franchise customer strategy. You’ll also be delivering long-term sustainable customer value and positive customer outcomes in line with customer insights, as well as the franchise strategy and growth ambitions.

You’ll also be:

  • Supporting market research into customer needs, in order to generate proposition ideas.
  • Contributing to the ideation, design, and delivery of a range of propositional improvements, including designing and delivering minimum viable products and pilots, and working as part of a multidisciplinary scrum to build new components.
  • Supporting the transfer to the wider proposition team to deliver to customers or to journey teams for ongoing management once the proposition is sufficiently articulated.
  • Working with broader stakeholders and your team to create business cases for commercial decision-making.
  • Supporting the journey teams to think about customer segments and the products, services, and experiences they want.
The skills you'll need

To take on this role, you’ll need the ability to develop a good understanding of customer segments and their needs through customer research. You’ll also need the ability to translate this understanding into innovative ideation of propositional solutions, as well as the skills to design and test these hypotheses and manage an experimental pipeline of propositional pilots and proof of concepts.

On top of this, you’ll bring data analysis capabilities to understand and assess customer needs, as well as the ability to translate customer needs and preferences into propositions.

Additionally, you’ll need:

  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
  • A willingness to explore new technologies and approaches.
  • Experience in proposition design or product and feature change delivery.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and ensure successful project delivery, as well as gather and analyse customer feedback.
  • An understanding of good customer outcomes and regulatory requirements, in addition to experience of embracing Agile capabilities and ways of working.
