Job summary

An established industry player is seeking dedicated Driver Installers and Technicians to join their team. In this role, you'll be the face of the brand, delivering and installing a variety of products while providing outstanding customer service. You'll be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient installations, coaching fellow drivers, and maintaining a positive customer experience. Roles Available: Customer Deliver Hub: Driver Installer & Technician

Position: Permanent

Location: Bessemer Road CDH (Norwich)

Salary: Please note from 01/04/25 the expected starting rates for an Installer will be £29,000 (Annual) & Technician will be £32,000 (Annual).

Please note: Due to the nature of these roles, we require all applicants to be over 18 to apply.

Driver Installer's Key Responsibilities:

Your day will see you start at the delivery hub where you are based before heading out on route where your responsibilities will include:

  • Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service is your number one priority.
  • Load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
  • Showing great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
  • Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
  • Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to ensure you perform your role at your best.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment.

Please note this role involves heavy lifting: You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.

Essential Skills/Experience You'll Need as a CDH Driver Installer:
  • Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points).
  • DCPC (Drivers Qualification Card) by the first day in role and Tachograph Card.
  • Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Good understanding of technology.
Desirable Skills/Experience You Can Bring to the Installer Role:
  • Installation and disconnection of white goods.
  • TV installation.
  • Assembly of a flat pack.

  • Installing a variety of products (including wall-mount TVs, integrated appliances, hard-wired appliance installations) efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
  • Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to ensure you perform your role at your best.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment.

Please note this role requires heavy lifting: You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.

  • Installation and disconnection of white goods.
  • TV installation.
  • Able to evidence the skills, knowledge and ability to complete the replacement of domestic light fittings, accessories, and cooking appliances.
  • Assembly of flat pack.
