Roles Available: Customer Deliver Hub Driver- Driver Trainee & Installer

Position: Permanent

Location: Logic Park (Leeds)

Salary: Please note from 01/04/25 the expected starting rates for a Customer Delivery Hub, Driver Trainee will be £26,700 (Annual) & Installer Trainee will be £29,000 (Annual)

Driver Trainee's Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete the 12 month Customer Delivery Driver Trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer by meeting the relevant criteria.
  • Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
  • Assist in loading your vehicle with the daily deliveries while collaborating with the warehouse team.
  • Show great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
  • Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
  • Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to perform your role at your best.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment.

Please note this role involves heavy lifting: You will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.

Essential Skills/Experience for CDH Driver Trainee:
  • UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6-points.
  • Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face to face.
  • Good understanding of technology and an interest in installation.
Desirable Skills/Experience for Driver Trainee:
  • Previous experience of installation and customer delivery driving.
Driver Installer Trainee's Key Responsibilities:

Complete the 3 month Customer Delivery Installer Trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer.

  • Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service is your number one priority.
  • Load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
  • Showing great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
  • Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
  • Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to ensure you perform your role at your best.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential Skills/Experience for CDH Driver Installer:
  • Manual C1 UK driving licence (with a maximum of 6 points).
  • DCPC (Drivers Qualification Card) by the first day in role and Tachograph Card.
  • Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Great verbal communication skills both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Good understanding of technology.
Desirable Skills/Experience for Installer Role:
  • Experience of home delivery and installation of electrical and furniture products.
