About HRC

HRC is a vibrant, dynamic further education college, recently graded a Good College by Ofsted, with students across two campuses, and ambitious growth and development targets.

HRC puts people first - students, staff, the organisations that they partner with, and the local communities that they serve.

The HRC goal is to create a supportive environment for all staff in which they can develop their skills, progress their career, and make a real difference in their local community. HRC ethos is evident in everything that they do and are always looking for new colleagues who share the HRC vision and values. As part of the HRC team, you will benefit from fantastic on-site facilities, exciting opportunities for career progression, and relevant training opportunities to help you gain the additional skills that you need to reach your full potential.

About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strong leader to join HRC as a Curriculum Area Manager (CAM) to oversee the Art and Design department. The Art and Design department is already an outstanding area within the college, and as a CAM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring it continues to maintain and enhance this high standard. You will work closely with the Director and other college managers to maintain exceptional provision by leading the planning, review, development, design, and implementation of a curriculum that meets the evolving needs of our communities and employers.

About You

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Art & Design or a related discipline, alongside a full teaching qualification and experience in leading a team. You will either possess, or be committed to obtaining, Assessor and Internal Verifier (IV) qualifications within a specified timeframe. Proven experience in teaching or training within Art & Design is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels, as well as external agencies, parents, and carers. A flexible attitude and approach are crucial, as is the ability to quickly and creatively adapt to new initiatives. You should be able to exercise leadership, fostering an environment of confidence, respect, and trust. Strong organisational skills are necessary to manage your own workload effectively, while a proactive mindset will enable you to tackle challenges with creative solutions.

If all the above sounds great and you are seeking a rewarding career where no two days will ever be the same, look no further and come join Hertford Regional College!
