Job description

This is a permanent curatorial role in the Department of Published Collections. The role of the Curator (Early Modern Era) is to curate the Library’s published collections from 1455 -1690, a period that includes significant historical developments such as The Reformation and The Renaissance. This role will work closely with the skills and practice of rare books librarianship whilst also seeking to explore the reverberations of these historic collections in the present. This is a unique role, responsible for looking after and bringing to life an internationally significant collection.

The Department of Published Collections is part of the wider Department of Collections, Access and Research. Curators in the team work in a number of ways to connect the collections across the other collecting divisions, and also to readers, researchers, and new audiences by widening access and creating opportunities to explore and enjoy these collections. You will join us in the Library’s centenary year, during which we will launch our new strategy, building on the momentum of our recent strategy Reaching People.
