Forgan Arts Centre is recruiting a Curator to further develop and deliver our artistic programme within the framework of our new business plan, An Arts Centre as a Garden.
The role of Curator is a new position. They will work closely with the Director and wider team to embed the social permaculture concept at the heart of An Arts Centre as a Garden. They will be directly responsible for a new residency programme that invites artists to develop socially engaged activities in response to annual themes. The Curator is also responsible for our seasonal events, a new programme of outdoor artist commissions, and other artist development opportunities.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape Forgan Arts Centre’s artistic programme. The role of Curator is a creative, challenging, collaborative and hands-on position. It is suitable for someone with a strong knowledge of contemporary art, experience in artist development and an interest in social change.
This role is possible thanks to investment from Creative Scotland.
The Curator will be required to participate in a four-week long social permaculture training programme in October 2025 which takes place on Saturdays from 9am-12.30pm.
