About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to work with our client based in Cardiff. This pivotal role is crucial in ensuring the effective delivery of digital services while safeguarding the organisation against cyber threats. You require transferable SC Clearance for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Strategy and Operations:
Develop and implement the organisation's digital strategy, aligning it with business goals and objectives.
Oversee the delivery of digital services, ensuring their availability, reliability, and performance.
Manage digital operations, including infrastructure, systems, networks, and service desk support.
Ensure cost-effective delivery of reliable digital services through proactive infrastructure and application monitoring.
Optimise digital processes, workflows, and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Cybersecurity:
Act as the primary point of contact for Cybersecurity issues.
Develop and execute a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to mitigate risks and protect digital assets.
Promote cybersecurity awareness and advise on risks.
Lead the implementation of cybersecurity frameworks, controls, and best practices.
Conduct regular risk and vulnerability assessments to identify and address security gaps.
Establish and coordinate incident response plans for cybersecurity incidents.
Digital Governance and Compliance:
Establish and enforce governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Represent the Digital function at senior levels, including during internal and external audits.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to address compliance requirements.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the Digital & Security budget, ensuring cost-effective utilisation of resources.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise resource allocation.
Monitor budget performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
Vendor Management and Technology Partnerships:
Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to drive innovation in digital and security practices.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements.
Evaluate and select technology solutions that align with business needs and security requirements.
Management of Digital Corporate Services:
Oversee the support, development, maintenance, and implementation of corporate services including finance systems, HR, CRM, and productivity tools.
Management of Digital Release, Test, and Integration Services:
Plan and manage the release of digital services.
Conduct regression testing of legacy systems and interfaces.
Manage the integration of new services into existing systems.

Proven experience of leading digital and security functions within a large organisation.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience of developing and implementing digital and cybersecurity strategies.
Strong understanding of digital operations, governance, and compliance.
Budget management experience with a focus on cost-effective resource utilisation.
The ability to manage vendor relationships and drive technological innovation.
