Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.
The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation. Having lifted ourselves out of special measures, we now have the impetus and breathing space to chart a fresh course in which we are continually striving to improve all our services for patients.
Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation, and providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in east London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of harm-free care and always caring for patients in the right place at the right time. It also means being an outstanding place to work, in which our WeCare values and behaviours are visible to all and guide us in how we work together.
Barts Health supports the Pregnancy Loss Pledge and commits to supporting their staff through the distress of miscarriage.
We are looking for an enthusiastic registered CT Radiographer to work in close conjunction with the CT Operational Lead Radiographers, CT Modality Lead and the wider team at our CT unit at Mile End Hospital which is part of the new Community Diagnostics Centre and the existing Early Diagnosis Centre.
Potential candidates should preferably have at least two years' experience of working within CT and have at least 2 years of post-qualifying experience. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential.
You will be working on a rota basis within the CT team covering 12-hour days, 08:00-20:00, Monday to Sunday.
We will be providing a service to a wide range of cancer, urgent, rheumatology and routine outpatients across North East of London. In this role, it is essential to have good organisational skills, good working relationships and be motivated and able to demonstrate how you can motivate others within the team.
The aim of this role is to provide high quality, effective Imaging services for the CT department at Mile End Hospital.
The post holder will work closely with other CT radiographers and clinical staff of all grades for safe, prompt and effective imaging of outpatients.
CT has a crucial role in the provision of primary diagnoses and follow-up in cancer and long term disabling conditions. Patients may present unconscious, un-cooperative, incapacitated, incompetent, or with physical and mental disabilities. Some may exhibit anti-social or threatening behaviour. It is necessary to provide empathy and emotional support to the bereaved, terminally ill, injured and traumatised.
