Job description

Role: Mental Health Support Worker

Contract: 3 month contract (potential temp to perm), 20 - 30 hours per week.

Pay: £13 per hour

We are looking for a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to support individuals in crisis. You will assess needs, provide emotional guidance, and facilitate group and one-on-one engagement, helping clients access mainstream services. Experience in mental health, motivation skills, and the ability to understand client needs are essential.

You will be part of a small team in Exeter, and you will be a key member of the drop-in service that operates between the hours on Mon - Sat 10:00 - 22:30 and Sun 13:30 - 22:30.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to people with mental health problems, in a drop-in centre in Exeter.
  • Work collaboratively with local agencies.
  • Engage clients experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Signpost and facilitate group activities.

  • Experience in mental health, with an understanding of complex needs.
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and motivate others.
  • Be a good listener and the ability to empathise with people.
  • Excellent communication skills.
