Job description

Would you like to work for an award-winning charity known for being a great place to work? (Best Companies / Investors in People).

They’ve launched a new service supporting ex-offenders in the community, helping them rebuild their lives. It’s a fantastic approach to rehabilitation, creating a welcoming and supportive environment.

A typical day in this role involves:

  1. Welcoming participants as they arrive and ensuring all safety checks are completed.
  2. Managing bookings and referrals through email, phone, or self-referrals.
  3. Handling petty cash for travel expenses or small purchases.
  4. Gathering feedback from participants through surveys or follow-ups.
  5. Monitoring CCTV and controlling access to restricted areas.
  6. Ordering supplies, like stationery or refreshments.
  7. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety guidelines by checking equipment.

It’s a nice office, in an easy-to-find location near Southampton train station at Overline House on Blechynden Terrace.

We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in criminal justice and supporting rehabilitation, so criminology graduates could be a good fit. Ideally, you have worked or volunteered on a similar project with vulnerable clients facing similar challenges. Strong organisational skills and demonstrable admin experience are essential. You’ll need strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with a range of people.

This could be a great opportunity for a criminology graduate looking to take their first step on the career ladder.
