Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
Criminal Justice Recovery Navigator
“When you choose to join us, you’re choosing more than just a job…. you’re choosing to make a difference”.
About the role...
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Recovery Navigator with a Criminal Justice focus to join the team. The team provides support and advice for individuals in a variety of Criminal Justice settings who are experiencing problematic substance use, to promote harm reduction, encourage ownership and promote positive change for the individual, their families, and the wider community.
In a multi-disciplinary approach working with partner agencies such as the Police, Probation, the Learning and Diversion team, Prisons, and many others, you will provide a targeted approach for service users, from harm reduction, brief interventions through to structured treatment, ensuring that every recovery journey is tailored to the individuals’ priorities. You will be working across a variety of Criminal Justice settings, such as Police custody, Courts, and Secure estates. You will take a “whole person” holistic approach, ensuring that each individual’s package of support is personal, flexible, and realistic, encompassing all areas of their wellbeing, not just their substance use, to achieve the best possible outcomes for every individual.
We are committed to fair chances for all and making sure everyone can access the help and support they need to realise their full potential. By joining our teams of passionate, enthusiastic, and committed individuals, you will be contributing to making this happen. You can really make the difference by believing in our service users and their ability to make positive changes when they don’t always believe in themselves.
About you...
Experience of working in this field is not essential; however, applicants will be asked to demonstrate an understanding of the wider issues surrounding substance misuse and some understanding of the criminal justice system. Driving license preferred but not essential.
Please note..
Working week: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with the potential evening and weekend work when required. This role will be based in multiple sites around Sheffield. Next steps will be a face-to-face interview.
