Credit Underwriter

Responsibilities:

• Analyse financial data to assess risk for SME borrowers on an individual loan basis, enhancing loan decisions with market, industry, and portfolio insights.
• Expand your knowledge of UK SMEs, including accounting practices, industry standards, financing norms, payment behaviour, and relevant legal aspects, to accurately evaluate credit risk.
• Deliver an exceptional borrower experience by reviewing all loan applications efficiently and ensuring compliance with internal quality standards.
• Improve systems, processes, and business practices by offering recommendations for increased efficiency and capacity, and advising colleagues to maximize commercial opportunities while maintaining strong risk management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in a similar underwriting position ideally in SME lending.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Understanding of UK Accounting standards.
