Job description

At Macquarie Asset Management Credit Division, within the dynamic sphere of Private Credit, we are at the forefront of offering innovative private debt solutions to institutional investors, having established ourselves as market leaders in the infrastructure debt asset class. Our offerings have broadened to include real estate and direct lending products, and our team in London is integral to this journey, leveraging deep market insights and strategic risk assessments to expand our client offerings and solidify our position in the market.

At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 34 markets and with 55 years of unbroken profitability. You'll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.

What role will you play?

You will play a crucial role in analysing and assessing the risk of new investment opportunities across our diverse product range, utilising your expertise to guide the investment team on deal parameters and provide them with independent advice and recommendations vital for our Investment Committee's decisions. You will conduct thorough risk assessments of potential investments, including financial analysis and sensitivity reviews, and evaluate finance documents and commercial contracts to ensure they align with our risk appetite. Additionally, you will determine credit ratings and potential losses for investments, analyse counterparty credit risks, and craft clear and concise investment papers that highlight key risks and investment theses. Presenting proposals and recommendations to the Investment Committee and, when necessary, to institutional investor clients will also be part of your responsibilities as you play a key role in the ongoing monitoring of our Private Credit portfolio, keeping abreast of industry trends, market themes, and counterparty exposures.

What you offer

  • 6+ years' of experience in infrastructure, project finance, real estate, or fund lending
  • A deep understanding of debt sizing, cash flow, ratio analysis, and rating models
  • Experience with specialist project finance or real estate due diligence materials and reports
  • Comfort in navigating and assessing legal documents such as loan agreements and project agreements
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to independently execute critical work streams
  • Exceptional numerical skills, sound business judgment, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members, the Investment Committee, and a broad network of colleagues and external partners.

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us; if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie, we encourage you to apply.
