About the role

We are looking for a Credit Rating Risk Manager to take a leading role on the activities relating to oversight of investment risk management particularly with regard to credit rating methodologies and assessments.

Responsibilities

1. Oversight of credit rating methodologies produced by Line 1 to ensure all risks are considered
2. Review and challenge of:
   
   • internal ratings assigned to new investments
   • Just's credit watchlist
   • Compliance with Just's Credit Ratings Validation Framework, ensuring adherence to SS 3/17 Illiquid Unrated Assets.
3. Review and perform analysis on new fund manager credit rating methodologies
4. Line 2 oversight and challenge of validation activities as set out in the Credit Rating Validation Framework
5. Involvement in overseeing the attestation regarding ensuring that the spread reflects the risks.

Skills & Experience

1. Experience within a credit rating agency or ratings team within an asset manager/insurance company is essential
2. Experience developing and applying credit rating methodologies; or experience reviewing and challenging internal credit rating methodologies
3. Line 2 risk management experience would be an advantage.
4. Experience performing risk identification exercises in the context of Solvency UK requirements is desirable
5. Experience in producing reports for committees
6. Good understanding of the different credit rating methodologies used by external rating agencies for assets typically held by UK annuity writers
7. Understanding of the Solvency UK requirements for internally assigned credit ratings (SS3/17) is desirable
8. Ability to maintain competence and up-to-date knowledge
9. Ability to build collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders across the business
