Credit Manager
Job Title: Credit Manager
Location: Hybrid – Flexible 2/3 days a week on site Leeds office (LS25). Some travel to our external offices or customer meetings will be required.

We are now recruiting for a Credit Manager to join us. Reporting to the IFT Credit & Recoveries Manager, this role will manage a team of credit controllers, always striving for best practices and enhancing ways of working, ensuring quality of work within the constraints of the credit policy and GDPR.
Key Accountabilities:
- Supervise, train, coach, develop and motivate the team of Senior Credit Controllers & Credit Controllers via 121’s, development check ins and objective setting.
- Create a successful team culture, building relationships and helping to develop and maintain a high-performance team ethos.
- To ensure that the Head of Credit & Loans is regularly updated and that areas of concern are highlighted promptly.
- Compilation of credit control reports, ensuring these are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure all audit requirements are met by regular checks, implementing any changes in ways of working, ensuring team are fully aware of any new processes.
- Ensure credit insurance is requested where relevant and that the team maintain accurate records via the insurance spreadsheet; highlighting any issues or concerns to the Head of Credit & Loans.
- Understand business objectives and targets, ensuring performance management standards are met, always ensuring to contribute to a continuous improvement culture within the team and developing processes and procedures to ensure that best practice is maintained and exceeded where possible.
- Develop positive stakeholder relationships with our internal business partners.
- Ensure teams are working in line with GDPR rules and that housekeeping is a priority including the closed account process.
- Attendance at Sales meetings, (in person and/or virtually) BDP (both minimum of quarterly) and customer visits when needed.
- Ensure monthly ledgers reviews are completed, discuss and agree strategies for any accounts of concern, and review ways of working and any improvements that can be actioned.
- Carry out any specific assignments or projects set by the Head of Credit & Loans that may fall under this position for operative reasons.
Experience and Key Attributes:
- CICM qualification and/or educated to A level standard with previous experience in a similar Credit role is preferred.
- Aptitude for problem solving with the ability to work using own initiative with a drive for continuous development improvement in self and others.
- Ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships within the business and externally.
- Ability to interpret financial data, and an awareness of Money Laundering and Fraud prevention.
- Previous experience within a fast-paced organisation, working as part of a larger team contributing and delivering joint objectives as well as individual.
- Excellent communication skills including presenting, report writing/summaries to line management / senior management.
- Ability to prioritise and plan daily tasks without need for referral, for both self and team, and to be able to work alone or in a team.
- Minimum intermediate level on the main MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP (SAP).
