Job description

The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting for a Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant.


We are a growing North East based business finance provider. As a direct lender, we pride ourselves on service delivery and can issue business loans up to £100k in under 24 hours. As we undergo significant growth, we're seeking to recruit a Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant to manage existing accounts and update the business accounts system in Xero.


Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and update the company loan book daily, reconciling payments in Xero and on the loan management software.
  2. Contact customers with late payments and liaise with them to plan and receive payments.
  3. Investigate and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes.
  4. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment status.
  5. Prepare and send out statements to customers.
  6. Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable, balance sheet & P&L.
  7. Purchase and sales ledger processing.
  8. Ensuring invoices match up with purchase orders.
  9. Sending out invoices.
  10. Answering supplier and customer billing and contract queries.
  11. Credit control including reviews of credit management facilities, daily processing of bank statements and cash receipts to customer accounts.
  12. Assisting with month-end preparation.
  13. Maintaining spreadsheets.
  14. Implement the company debt collection process, inclusive but not exhaustive of default letters and pre-litigation documents.

Skills:

  1. Proficiency in accounting software ideally Xero/Quickbooks.
  2. Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and collections.
  3. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  4. Excellent communication skills, with the empathy to understand a customer's position, but the drive to convert to a result for the business.
  5. Ideally AAT qualified.

Hours:

Monday - Friday 9-5pm


Job Types:

Permanent, Full-time


Pay:

£24,000.00 - £35,000.00 per year

Experience:

  1. Accounting: 1 year (preferred).
  2. Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred).
