Credit Controller

Full time - office based

We are looking for a diligent and efficient Credit Controller to join a finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that customer payments are received on time, and all necessary Credit Control functions are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. You will be working closely with other teams across the company, including sales and transport, to resolve queries, process payments, and ensure the financial health of the business.

Key duties include...

• Ensure amounts owed to the company are collected in a timely manner, in line with agreed credit terms.

• Process credit notes and resolve any customer invoice or credit note queries.

• Maximise profit by conducting effective credit assessments and closely monitoring customer accounts, liaising with credit insurers where needed.

• Handle the banking and allocation of cash receipts, ensuring the Sales Ledger is kept accurately maintained.

• Oversee the debt recovery process for non-paying customers.

• Provide ad-hoc support and analysis to the Accounts Supervisor as required.

• Maintain debtor days at agreed levels.

• Ensure all queries and credit requests are resolved within the agreed timescales.

• Regularly review credit limits and assessments, with low levels of bad debt.

• Allocate cash in line with remittance advices and resolve customer queries promptly.

• Achieve agreed levels of debt recovery.

Key responsibilities include...

• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any queries and credit requests.

• Work with the sales team to support the cash collection process.

• Provide senior management with regular updates on debtor days, credit note levels, and underperforming debt.

• Work closely with the other Credit Controller in the finance team to ensure effective workload management.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in Credit Control essential

• Exceptional customer care skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a detailed knowledge of Microsoft products.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with both internal teams and external clients.
