Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Credit Controller to join the team and support the Order to Cash Manager in all aspects of managing credit and credit risk to the business. As a Credit Controller, you will ensure that good relations with customers are maintained and support the business by ensuring that all invoice queries are followed up and resolved.

Vergo has over 45 years of experience in the pest industry and is the largest independent national pest service provider in the UK today. Vergo is a national business with staff geographically spread across the UK and Northern Ireland.

About The Role

  • Maintain contact with customers on all matters associated with credit management, primarily by phone
  • Maintain contact with sales and operations management of the business to gain intelligence about business relationships
  • Keep OTC Manager informed of issues associated with customer credit
  • Resolve customer invoicing queries – key account and non-key account
  • Ensure that all aspects of credit policy are adhered to by the business and recommend changes (when appropriate) to ensure that the policy remains relevant to the business
  • Maintain DSO within target
  • Other activities to support the business as required
About You

  • Experience in managing an accounts receivable function in a medium to large-sized service business
  • Understanding of the accounts receivable modules of enterprise systems
  • Accomplished in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Interpret and clearly convey customer affairs verbally and in writing
  • Analytical and numerate, with attention to detail
  • Problem solver
  • A good business understanding
  • Proven time management skills
  • Able to determine when humility is appropriate and when to become assertive
  • Capable as a collaborative team-worker and to work independently

This role is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid role, and while there is flexibility to work from home, regular attendance at our Head Office in Gloucester is essential to meet business needs. Our new office is fully accessible, offers on-site parking and is close to local amenities and transport routes!
