Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG) is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and organised Creative Learning Producer. The successful candidate will be responsible for operational aspects of BCMG’s award-winning Learning & Participation Programme as well as contributing to its shape and content, working closely with the Director of Learning. This role focuses on our out-of-school composing workshop programme, our HE workshops and concerts for families and schools.
BCMG’s highly acclaimed, internationally recognised Learning Programme, BCMG Learn & Take Part, was established in 2000. Current activity includes our out-of-school composing workshop programme, school and family concerts, Higher Education partnerships and our long-term action research project, Listen Imagine Compose Primary. BCMG is a sector leader in supporting children and young people to compose and has worked in partnership with the Birmingham Music Education Research Group (BMERG) at Birmingham City University (BCU) for many years.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating opportunities for children and young people to engage with new music and develop their musical creativity; excited by the prospect of working with professional composers and BCMG musicians; and wants to contribute to the wider music and music education ecology of Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Birmingham Contemporary Music Group is one of Europe’s leading new music ensembles. BCMG Learn & Take Part focuses on young people’s composing, supporting teachers, digital resources, commissioning music for youth/non-professional ensembles, concerts for schools and families.
