As a key member of the motion design team, you will help shape an innovative and forward-thinking department. In this role, you will manage multiple projects at once, requiring self-discipline, effective time management, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Additionally, you will provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the broader design team to foster creativity and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and inspire the motion design studio to deliver unique, memorable, and impactful work that meets client briefs.
Interpret and respond to client and agency briefs, ensuring creative alignment.
Mentor junior designers by providing direction, support, and inspiration throughout the creative process.
Introduce fresh, innovative ideas during creative meetings and discussions.
Collaborate with production teams to analyze client briefs and feedback, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
Organize and conduct internal creative reviews to refine and enhance design concepts.
Work closely with other teams, particularly in Editorial and Print Design, to share ideas and collaborate on cross-functional projects.
Establish strong relationships with external illustrators, animators, directors, and creatives, leveraging their talents for specific projects.
Actively scout and recruit emerging motion design talent by attending industry events and degree shows.
Collaborate with the Head of Post-Production to ensure adequate freelance coverage during peak periods or team member absences.
Manage and trial freelance talent within the studio to expand the creative pool.
Ensure technical issues, such as software or hardware challenges, are promptly addressed by relevant operational team members to maintain studio efficiency.
