GSL Education are seeking a Cover Teacher to work in a variety of secondary schools across Fareham, Hampshire. This role is perfect for teachers who want to maintain their passion for education while enjoying a flexible schedule. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for varied classroom experiences, this role offers an exciting opportunity to grow and develop.

As a Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across different subjects and year groups. You’ll step into classrooms with confidence, ensuring students stay engaged and on task, and making a positive contribution to their educational experience.

Cover Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality lessons that align with the school's curriculum.
• Support students in a range of academic abilities, including those with additional needs.
• Keep students engaged and motivated through creative and effective teaching strategies.
• Enforce classroom rules and policies, ensuring a respectful and productive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods and approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Provide constructive feedback on student performance.
• Ensure the well-being and safety of all students under your care.
• Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to maintain consistency across classes.
• Take part in school activities or events when required.
• Ensure that safeguarding policies are adhered to at all times.

Requirements for a Cover Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ECT, or relevant teaching experience.
• Prior experience working as a Cover Teacher in secondary schools.
• SEN experience is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt quickly to new environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
• Availability to work flexibly (ideally full-time, but part-time options are available).
• A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new check.
